Pitch-In Canada Week

During the week of April 19 to 25, 2010, communities across
Canada participated in “PITCH-IN CANADA Week”, by
asking individuals, clubs, schools and resident groups to
volunteer their time to collect litter in parks, valley
lands, open space and boulevards. Once again, the Best
Western
Parkway Hotel and its staff participated in this
event to help make our community a cleaner place to live.

The 20-minute Makeover

On April 24, 2009, family
members, friends, and work colleagues, and even
individuals gathered in different areas in the GTA, York
Region, and other surrounding areas to participate in
the 20-minute makeover! Groups would pick a clean
up location and then proceed to pick up litter for 20
minutes.
Our hotel chose the greenery
fronting Highway 7 and Leslie St. With great
participation from all departments, we managed to make
it look VERY green.
What a difference 20
minutes make!

Monthly York Region Transit Bus
Passes
The Best
Westerm
Parkway Hotel continues to provide their employees with
the option of purchasing discounted York Region Transit
Bus Passes on a monthly basis. This is another
way to encourage employees to travel to work
differently, and at the same time, reducing single
occupant vehicles on the road.
